New Orleans Alternative Spring Break
Short Project Description

Eight Nichols College Students & two staff members will travel to New Orleans to rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

What is the outcome of the project?

Students will learn about the culture of New Orleans, the history of natural disasters and how New Orleans was effected. the culmination of the process will be the students traveling to New Orleans to work with the Saint Bernard s project to re-build homes.

Who is involved?

The Center for Student Involvement and the Residence Life Office at Nichols College collaborate to host this trip.

When will the project happen?

Spring Break 2014 - March 16th - March 22nd, 2014

Where will the project happen?

New Orleans, LA

Why does this project matter?

Because it helps the people and city of New Orleans as well as has an impact on the students completing the service.

How will the funds be used?

the funds will be used for travel to and from New Orleans and for room and board, and transportation to and from work sites in New Orleans.
